On Friday, Albany, Ray Charles’ hometown, unveiled a revolving lighted bronze statue of him in the middle of a new downtown plaza that is named after him. Family members of Charles showed up at the musical ceremony that honored him. Ray Charles died in 2004 at the age of 73.
