Sony Laptop Recall

Sony Corp is recalling 440,000 Vaio laptop computers worldwide due to a wiring flaw that could cause overheating. The recall involves 19 models in the Vaio TZ series manufactured between May 2007 and July 2008. The company had improperly placed wires near the hinge connecting the body of the laptop and its display could wear quickly and cause a short circuit and overheating. A mistake in a circuit board inside the display could also cause overheating inside its rim. Sony has already received 209 reports of overheating worldwide and seven cases where people received minor burns.

Montel Williams Ends His Talk Show

The syndicated talk show “The Montel Williams Show” will stop production after this television season. Stations that air his show will be offered a series of reruns. Stations would show the “Best of Montel,” which is 52 weeks of some of the most interesting episodes from the history of the show. The “Montel Williams Show” has been airing for 17 years.

Hulk Hogan’s Wife Files For Divorce

Hulk Hogan’s wife, Linda Hogan, has filed for divorce against the wrestler. Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, told the St. Petersburg Times that he didn’t know that his wife had filed for divorce. He was informed through a reporter that told him how the paper work was submitted to the Pinellas County court on Tuesday.

The couple has recently starred in the VH1 reality series “Hogan Knows Best” with their two children.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Sues Showtime

The music group Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing Showtime Networks over the name of the television series called “Californication,” which is the same name of the group’s 1999 album. “Californication” was the biggest cd, video, and song of the group’s career.

The lawsuit claims unfair competition, dilution of the value of the name, and unjust enrichment. The lawsuit also names the show’s creator and executive producer, Tom Kapinos, and two production companies, named Twilight Time Films and Aggressive Mediocrity Inc. The lawsuit is seeking a permanent injunction barring Showtime and other companies from using the title “Californication” for the show. They are also suing for damages, restitution, and disgorgement of all profits obtained by the defendants.

Jennifer Hudson Will Star In the Sex and the City Movie

It is reported that Jennifer Hudson has joined the cast of the “Sex and the City” movie. She will play the character of Louise, the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker’s lead character Carrie Bradshaw. The four leading ladies of the show, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon, will be in the film. The movie will take place in New York City and will reflect on their lives after the series ended.
