Dog Barks Translated By Computer

There are scientists at Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest, Hungary that has recorded more than 6,000 dog barks, which were by 14 different Hungarian sheepdogs, and fed the sounds to a computer program which was able to categorized the barks into categories that included “stranger,” “fight,” “alone,” “ball,” “walk,” and “play.” The computer also was able to pick out different dogs by their bark.

Woman Born With Feet Facing Backwards

In China, a woman named Wang Fang was born with her feet facing the wrong way. She lives fine with her condition and doesn’t want to receive disability pension because she doesn’t see herself as disabled. She says that she can run faster than most of her friends and has a job as a waitress. After she was born, Doctors thought she would not be able to walk properly but she is doing fine.

Wizard of Oz Munchkins Get a Star on Walk of Fame

This past Tuesday, nearly 70 years after “The Wizard of Oz” first premiered at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, seven of the film’s Munchkins arrived there to receive a collective star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Munchkins arrived in a horse-drawn carriage with a marching band following behind. There was a yellow carpet that was similar to the film’s yellow brick road that led them to the stage. One of them tap-danced and another sang. Joey Luft, the son of Judy Garland who played Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz,” stated that he was as proud that day as his mother would have been.
