Sleeping Pills Cause Woman to Awake From Coma

A sleeping pill named zolpidem, sold under the name Ambien, caused a 23 year old woman named Amy Pickard to awake from a 6 year coma after being given the drug. She is one of 360 patients from around the world that is involved in a test trial of using zolpidem to treat coma patients. She had gone into a coma at the age of 17 after injection heroine. After taking the pill, she was able eat and breathe on her own. She is also able to visually focus on things in her room and starting to talk again.

Alli is the Newest Weight Loss Pill

Alli is the newest and latest weight-loss pill. It was created by the pharmaceutical company called GlaxoSmithKline and is the only government approved over-the-counter weight-loss product on the market. It is a milder version of the prescription drug Xenical and works by reducing the absorption of fat. When it is used with a reduced-calorie diet and exercise, users can lose up to 50 percent more weight than with just dieting alone.

Side effects are low, especially with a diet of no more than 30 percent fat.
