Google Added to Gas Pumps

Starting next month, gas pumps will include an Internet connection that will have Google’s mapping service in color on a small screen. People will be able to get driving directions and look through several categories to find local landmarks, hotels, restaurants, and hospitals.

After a person selects a destination, the pump will print out the directions. Someday, they may have it where a person could type in a specific address and get directions.

In the beginning, they plan to have the service at 3,500 gas pumps and then expand if there is a more of a demand. Google wants to do this because they want to make their services available whenever and wherever people would need it.

Couple Robs Gas Station with Samurai Sword

It is reported in Plover, WI that a couple was arrested for robbing a gas station with a samurai sword. The couple needed money to leave town, so they stole a 2000 Mercury Sable, on August 8th, from the Jeepers Gin Mill and then dove home to pick a sword and two stocking caps. They then drove to the gas station and threatened the clerk with the sword and forced the clerk to give them several hundred dollars from the cash registers.

The couple was arrested after a Plover officer remembered seeing several samurai swords in their apartment when he responded to a domestic disturbance issue in May. The male is being held in jail on a $75,000 bond and the female is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Dead Birds Shutdown D.C. Metro

It is reported in Washington that two subway stations closed down because nearly 20 dead birds were found outside the Greenbelt and Takoma station. Officials are looking for a man with a black pickup truck after witnesses said they saw someone spraying an unknown substance at the stations. The stations remained closed while hazardous materials crews analyze the substance.

A few years ago they had a similar situation when someone was going around and putting out rat poison.
