Rapper DMX Sentenced to Jail Time

On Friday, the rapper DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail for his convictions on theft, drug-possession, and animal-cruelty charges. He was also placed on at least 18 months supervised probation by the Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner Phemonia Miller.

On December 30th, Simmons pleaded guilty to three felony counts, which were theft, possession or use of marijuana, and the possession or use of narcotic drugs. He also had a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty. He is not being given credit for time served and is not expected to get out of jail until the end of April.

Rapper DMX Arrested

The rapper DMX was arrested in Miami on Tuesday by federal authorities for not attending his recent court appearance. He was arrested on a warrant issued by a judge in Phoenix after he didn't attend his court hearing on Friday. DMX was being held at the Miami-Dade County jail and will be taken back to Phoenix. His bond is set at $120,000. He has pleaded not guilty to charges to drug possession, identity theft, and animal cruelty.

Another Warrant Issued to Rapper DMX

The rapper DMX was issued a bench warrant by a judge in Phoenix after he didn't show up to court on Friday. This is the second time that he missed a court appearance in Maricopa County Superior Court. He is currently facing charges of drug possession, identity theft, and animal cruelty. His bond has been raised to $120,000 cash and his attorney says that he is currently at an undisclosed rehab facility.

Rapper DMX Pleads Guilty

On Wednesday, the rapper DMX has pleaded guilty to attempted marijuana and cocaine possession and was sentenced to time served. He is now awaiting extradition to face more charges in Arizona. He is still in custody while waiting for Arizona authorities to pick him up on drug and animal cruelty charges there.

DMX decided to plead guilty after he was denied bail earlier this week due to an outstanding Arizona warrant. If he hadn’t pleaded guilty, then he would have had to stay in jail in Miami until an October trial date.

Rapper DMX Arrested at Arizona Mall

The rapper DMX was arrested at a mall in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday after suspicion that he gave a false name and Social Security number to a hospital to avoid paying for medical expenses. He went to Scottsdale’s Mayo Clinic in April and used the name Troy Jones, even though his real name is Earl Simmons, and tried to avoid paying the $7,500 bill.

DMX started being investigated about this incident after an animal neglect investigation that happened last year at his Phoenix home. The bond for this recent case has not been set yet.

Rapper DMX Pleads Not Guilty

The rapper DMX has pleaded not guilty in court to charges of felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges on Thursday. He was indicted last week on 11 counts that included felony marijuana and paraphernalia possession and seven counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

The charges come from a raid that was done on his property last August where he was accused of neglecting to take proper care of 12 pit bull dogs at his Phoenix, Arizona property. Some of the dogs were found to be dehydrated and underfed. Three dogs were found buried in his back yard.

Rapper DMX Arrested for Drugs and Animal Cruelty

The rapper DMX was arrested for drugs and animal cruelty after a raid was done on his north Phoenix home. He tried to barricade himself in his bedroom but came out after a SWAT team went into his home during a raid a 3 a.m. in the morning. Drugs and weapons were seized from the property. The arrest and search warrants were based on indictments for felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. DMX made his first court appearance on Friday and bail was set at $7,500.

Back in August, a search was done of the rapper’s home where 12 pit bull dogs were seized after reports were being made of him abusing dogs on his property. At the time detectives also dug up the bodies of three dead dogs and found marijuana on the property. DMX had not been home for weeks at that time.

Scientists Find the Oldest Living Animal and Kills It

A group of British marine biologists from Bangor University in Wales found a special clam while researching the waters of north Iceland. After they cut through the shell and killed it, they counted the growth rings and found that it was 405 to 410 years old. The clam belonged to the Artica Islandica species.

Owners of Pets Thrown Off Bridge in Puerto Rico Receive Help

The animal welfare groups plan to help the Puerto Rico housing project residents to pursue legal action against the animal control workers that seized their pets and killed most of them by throwing them from a bridge. Friends of the Animal, a Puerto Rican company that rescues and rehabilitates abandoned pets and farm animals, and many other groups will help the pet owners with claims of animal cruelty and civil rights violations.

Ving Rhames’ Dogs Kill a Caretaker

It is reported that Ving Rhames’ massive sized dogs attacked and killed a live-in caretaker at the actor’s home on Friday. The caretaker was found dead was found dead on the front lawn of Rhames’s Los Angeles home covered with dog bites. Several large dogs were running loose on the property when the police arrived.

Animal control officers took three bull mastiffs and an English bulldog. Four dogs are being quarantined, the largest being 200 pounds, for investigation into the attack. Authorities are not sure as to how many of the dogs took part in the attack or why they attacked the caretaker. The caretaker lived on the property and worked there for two years. Ving Rhames is currently out of the country shooting a movie and has no comment as to what happened.
