Judge Throws Out Lawsuit Against Rapper 50 Cent

In New York, a judge threw out a $50 million dollar lawsuit that was filed by the rapper 50 Cent's ex-girlfriend, who stated that she is owed half of the rapper's assets because he promised to take care of her for life. The judge said that 50 Cent's financial worth is currently "set at no less than "50 Million" and didn't feel that there was an oral agreement between the two parties and even if there was an oral agreement, her claim would not be acceptable due to a six-year statute of limitations. 50 Cent denied that he had made any such promises and that he would have married her if he intended to take care of her financially for life.

The ex-girlfriend, named Shaniqua Tompkins, has a 12 year old son with 50 Cent and is set to receive $6,700 each month for several years. Her lawyer is considering an appeal of the lawsuit. Tompkins claims that she supported 50 Cent financially after they started dating in 1995 while he tried to start his career. She also says that she took care of him for months after he was shot nine times in 2000.
