Rapper DMX Pleads Guilty
DMX decided to plead guilty after he was denied bail earlier this week due to an outstanding Arizona warrant. If he hadn’t pleaded guilty, then he would have had to stay in jail in Miami until an October trial date.

Kid Rock Sentenced to Probation
On Monday, Kid Rock was sentence to serving a year of probation and was fined $1,000 for his part in a fight at an Atlanta Waffle House this past fall. He was also sentenced to six hours of anger management counseling and 80 hours of community service. He pleaded no contest to one count of simple battery and four counts of battery were dropped.
Five members of his entourage were also arrested because of the fight. Two of them pleaded no contest and also received probation and community service. Charges were dropped against the other three people since the court decided that they weren't involved in the altercation after viewing the videotape.

Amy Winehouses’s Husband Receives Jail Sentence
On Monday, a judge sentenced Amy Winehouse’s husband to 27 months in jail for assault and obstruction of justice. Her husband, named Blake Fielder-Civil, admitted to beating up a pub manager, named James King, in a barroom fight in 2006 and offering him $400,000 to be quiet about it. The judge told Fielder-Civil that he had behaved in a gratuitous, cowardly, and disgraceful manner. Amy Winehouse wasn’t present in the courtroom.

Sean Levert’s Widow Files Lawsuit
The widow of singer Sean Levert, named Angela Lowe, has decided to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the county officials who were holding him in jail when he had gotten sick soon before he died. She filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in federal court that accuses his jailers of showing disregard for his medical needs. Lowe and Levert’s estate are seeking to receive an unspecified amount in damages.
Sean Levert died on March 30th soon after he was removed from jail and taken to a hospital. A coroner ruled that he died of natural causes. He was in jail serving a 22 month sentence for failure to pay child support.

Wesley Snipes Sentenced to Prison
The actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday for not filing income taxes that he claimed he never had to pay. He gave the federal government three checks for $5 million that was delivered while in court. Prosecutors didn’t want to accept the checks at first but by the end of the day they did. After that he was still sentenced to three years in prison to made an example out of to warn other people what could happen if they don’t file their taxes.
