It is reported that in Prescott, Arizona, A woman whose purse was stolen and the thief who stole it by chance stood next to each other at a Prescott bookstore and as she complained about the unauthorized use of her credit card he was there to get some money.
The victim went to the store to report that someone had stolen her purse and used her credit card fraudulently to buy $200 worth of DVDs. Several minutes later while the victim was standing there a man went to the counter and tried to return eight DVDs in exchange for cash. At the time the two didn't recognize each other.
When the manager came to the counter to handle both transactions she immediately made a connection with the situation. That is when the thief ran out of the store.
The thief admitted to the police that he had stolen the purse and used the victim's credit card at the bookstore, a grocery store, and a Walmart that totaled up to $716 worth of goods.
