Man Accused of Selling Library Books

It is reported in Denver that a man named Thomas Pilaar sold hundred of books, tapes, and DVD’s that he borrowed and checked out from the Denver area libraries. It supposedly has cost the libraries about $35,000.

Thomas used several different names to get seven library cards from the Denver Public Library. With the cards he checked out about 250 to 300 items. Authorities were notified after a woman who bought books from craigslist.org noticed the library identification stamps.

Thomas was jailed on an unrelated parole violation and is being investigated for theft. He is also being held without bond.
