Apple Now Allows Third Party Applications on iPhone

Apple Inc. will now allow third party applications on the iPhone. They previously wanted to have control over the applications that people have on their iPhones. In February, they plan to release a software development kit that will allow other companies to make iPhone and iPod touch applications. They want to wait until February for the benefit of developers and protect iPhone users from viruses, malware, and privacy attacks.

The iPhone is a cellphone, multimedia, and wireless device. Over 1 million iPhones have been sold since the product launched this past June.
