In Scottsboro, a couple recently celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary and entered the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the longest marriages in living couples.
Alonzo, age 97, and Beulah Sims, 94, celebrated their anniversary on Sunday at the nursing home where they have lived since 2002. They got married in 1927 and raised six children. They say owe their long lives to working on their farm and eating a lot of vegetables and claim that through their marriage they have had very few arguments because they didn’t have the time to fight.
