Judge Throws Out Lawsuit Against Rapper 50 Cent

In New York, a judge threw out a $50 million dollar lawsuit that was filed by the rapper 50 Cent's ex-girlfriend, who stated that she is owed half of the rapper's assets because he promised to take care of her for life. The judge said that 50 Cent's financial worth is currently "set at no less than "50 Million" and didn't feel that there was an oral agreement between the two parties and even if there was an oral agreement, her claim would not be acceptable due to a six-year statute of limitations. 50 Cent denied that he had made any such promises and that he would have married her if he intended to take care of her financially for life.

The ex-girlfriend, named Shaniqua Tompkins, has a 12 year old son with 50 Cent and is set to receive $6,700 each month for several years. Her lawyer is considering an appeal of the lawsuit. Tompkins claims that she supported 50 Cent financially after they started dating in 1995 while he tried to start his career. She also says that she took care of him for months after he was shot nine times in 2000.

The ad is part of a Taco Bell "Why Pay More?" campaign that promotes items that cost less than a dollar.

The company supposedly sent a bogus letter that requested the name change to the news media but not to 50 Cent. He didn't find out about the letter or that he was featured in the ad campaigns until he saw a news report about it. He wants $4 million in damages.

50 Cent Was Bankrupt before the Vitamin Water Deal

It is reported that hip hop artist 50 Cent had serious financial problems earlier this year. He was spending millions of dollars on his Connecticut mansion, on members of his entourage, and personal security. 50 Cent was broke with a lot of assets and very little cash. His accountants even suggested that he sell some of his assets.

He put up his Connecticut mansion for sale and sold some of his luxury cars. He was even thinking of selling his interest in G-Unit Records. Luckily he didn’t have to sell anything because Coca Cola announced a $4.1B cash offer for Vitamin Water, which is an "enhanced water" company which 50 Cent owned a minority stake. He gained about $40 million dollars from the deal.

Since then, 50 Cent has taken his mansion and almost all of his luxury cars off the market. Only his silver Lamborghini is still up for sale.
