Singer Alicia Keys Gives Birth

The R&B singer Alicia Keys has given birth to a healthy baby boy on October 14th who was named Egypt Daoud Ibarr
Dean. She gave birth at New York’s St-Luke’s Roosevelt hospital in a special celebrity section of the maternity ward reserved for VIPs. The father is her husband Swizz Beatz, who is a record producer, DJ, and rapper. Swizz Beatz also has three children, two sons and one daughter, from previous relationships.

Singer Alicia Keys Gets Married

The singer Alicia Keys got married this past weekend to record producer Swizz Beats, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, in a secret wedding ceremony. Keys is currently pregnant with their child. The couple supposedly began dating in 2008 when Swizz Beats was married to singer Mashonda, who he also has a child with.

Rapper Dr. Dre's Son Died of Drug Overdose

After toxicology and other tests have been done, it is found that the 20 year old son of rapper Dr. Dre, named Andre Young Jr., died of an accidental heroin and morphine overdose. He was recently found dead in his home by his mother after spending a night out with his friends.

Rapper Lil Kim Sued by Recording Company

The rapper Lil Kim is being sued by a recording company called Brookland Media for $2.5 million. The company states that she hasn’t delivered all of the recordings that their contract requires and they have already spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on recordings, equipment, and advanced payments after contracting the rapper this year. Court papers state that Lil Kim tried to change the contract and refused to continue recording unless the company agreed. Brookland Media wants the court to declare the contract as valid and wants to bar her from recording for another company.

TiVo’s New Feature of Web Video

TiVo Inc. will soon have a new feature that will allow subscribers to view video from the Internet that would play on a television through their service. People using the service would have to use TiVo’s software on a computer to get this feature. TiVo will also provide a guide on its TV-based menu to record the selected Web videos. This new feature is set to be available in March.

Woman Gives Birth to 15.2 Pound Baby

In Indonesia, a woman gave birth to a 15.2 pound baby boy on Monday. The mother has gestational diabetes, which could cause heavier than normal babies. The baby was delivered by C-section and transferred to another hospital for respiratory problems.

The average weight of a newly born baby is about 7 pounds and the Guinness Book of World Records records the largest baby ever born was 23.12 pounds. It was born in 1879 in the United States and died 11 hours after it was born.

Timbaland Having a Baby

It is reported that the music producer Timbaland is having a baby with a woman who works at his record label. The two aren’t in a relationship but Timbaland says that he will be apart of the child’s life. The baby is due at the end of November.

High School Students Try to Set New Twister Record

On Sunday in Fargo, ND 450 high school students played the game Twister on 180 mats to try to set the world record for the largest Twister game board. The mats were taped together and made a large Twister board that was 4,699 square feet long. The students won’t know if they set a record until the officials at the Guinness World Records reviews the video of the event and says so. The current Twister board record is a board that was made in the Netherlands in 2005 that was 2,453 square feet long.

Mans Wins Contest With 1524 Pound Pumpkin

In Half Moon Bay, CA a man named Thad Starr had the winning pumpkin at the Half Moon Bay pumpkin festival weigh-off. His pumpkin weighed 1,524 pounds and set the record for the largest pumpkin they ever had at the contest. He won six dollars for each pound of the pumpkin and received $9,144. Couple Celebrates 80th Anniversary

In Scottsboro, a couple recently celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary and entered the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the longest marriages in living couples.

Alonzo, age 97, and Beulah Sims, 94, celebrated their anniversary on Sunday at the nursing home where they have lived since 2002. They got married in 1927 and raised six children. They say owe their long lives to working on their farm and eating a lot of vegetables and claim that through their marriage they have had very few arguments because they didn’t have the time to fight.

Kanye West Outsells 50 Cent's New Cd

It is reported that Kanye West's new cd, Graduation, is outselling 50 Cent's new cd, Curtis. A lot of people expected this to happen. In the disappointing news, 50 Cent has canceled three major performances in Europe, which are the MOBO awards, Vodafone Live Music Awards, and a MTV Germany perfomance.

50 Cent Orders His Record Label to Buy His New Album

It is reported that during a conference call, 50 Cent told his record label that they were being cheap with marketing his new record, called Curtis, and told them that either they buy 300,000 copies of it or he will leave the label. Since 50 Cent is currently one of Interscope’s most popular artists, they say they are willing to increase their post-production budget. Music Industry experts expect that Kanye West will sell about 750,000 copies of his record this week and 50 Cent will sell about 600,000 copies without the Interscope purchase.

Almanac Predicts 2008 to Reach Record Temperatures

The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts for 2008 to be the warmest year in a century. It is believed that years that end in “8” will have unusual weather. They predict a warmer than average winter and below average snowfall. They also predict a hot summer but cool and dry in the upper Midwest. The also expect more rainfall than usual. They say they have a secret formula based on sunspots and meteorology to make these predictions.
