Judge Throws Out Lawsuit Against Rapper 50 Cent

In New York, a judge threw out a $50 million dollar lawsuit that was filed by the rapper 50 Cent's ex-girlfriend, who stated that she is owed half of the rapper's assets because he promised to take care of her for life. The judge said that 50 Cent's financial worth is currently "set at no less than "50 Million" and didn't feel that there was an oral agreement between the two parties and even if there was an oral agreement, her claim would not be acceptable due to a six-year statute of limitations. 50 Cent denied that he had made any such promises and that he would have married her if he intended to take care of her financially for life.

The ex-girlfriend, named Shaniqua Tompkins, has a 12 year old son with 50 Cent and is set to receive $6,700 each month for several years. Her lawyer is considering an appeal of the lawsuit. Tompkins claims that she supported 50 Cent financially after they started dating in 1995 while he tried to start his career. She also says that she took care of him for months after he was shot nine times in 2000.

Medicare Won’t Pay for Hospital Errors

It is reported that in a policy change, the Bush administration officials say that from now on Medicare will no longer pay the extra costs of treating preventable errors, injuries, and infections that happen in hospitals. That includes bedsores, pressure ulcers, injuries caused by falls, and infections resulting from the prolonged use of catheters in blood vessels or the bladder. Woman Starves Her Adopted Children

It is reported that in West Palm Beach, FL a woman named Judith Leekin received nearly $2 million dollars in welfare payments as she starved, tied up, and abused the children she adopted. She treated the children like prisoners and handcuffed them together. Currently, she has a $4.5 million dollar bail and 11 charges, including counts of aggravated child abuse, false identification and witness tampering, as well as four counts of aggravated abuse of a disabled adult.

Leekin used fake aliases to adopt the 11 children and received welfare payments to different addresses and bank accounts. She received nearly $2 million dollars since 1993 until recently. People who adopt special needs children can receive about $55 per day until the child turns 21.

Leekin was found out when an 18 year old woman was found wandering around in a grocery store 200 miles from Leekin’s home and she told the police that Leekin had adopted her 13 years ago and abandoned her at the store that day.

50 Cent Was Bankrupt before the Vitamin Water Deal

It is reported that hip hop artist 50 Cent had serious financial problems earlier this year. He was spending millions of dollars on his Connecticut mansion, on members of his entourage, and personal security. 50 Cent was broke with a lot of assets and very little cash. His accountants even suggested that he sell some of his assets.

He put up his Connecticut mansion for sale and sold some of his luxury cars. He was even thinking of selling his interest in G-Unit Records. Luckily he didn’t have to sell anything because Coca Cola announced a $4.1B cash offer for Vitamin Water, which is an "enhanced water" company which 50 Cent owned a minority stake. He gained about $40 million dollars from the deal.

Since then, 50 Cent has taken his mansion and almost all of his luxury cars off the market. Only his silver Lamborghini is still up for sale.
