Rapper Kanye West Makes Court Plea
On Friday, the rapper Kanye West pleaded not guilty to the charges of misdemeanor battery, grand theft, and vandalism that come from an incident that happened last September when he was caught breaking a paparazzo's camera flash at Los Angeles International Airport. He is scheduled to reappear in court on July 15th.

Rapper Kanye West Charged with Misdemeanors
The rapper Kanye West has been charged with misdemeanor battery, grand theft, and vandalism by the Los Angeles city prosecutors due to destroying a paparazzi's camera back in September. He has the possibility of spending 2 and a half years in jail if he is convicted of the charges.
West's manager, named Dan Crawley, is also facing six misdemeanor charges, two counts of battery, and vandalism and grand theft due to being part of the incident by breaking the camera and accosting a videographer from TMZ. He has the possbility of spending up to five years in jail if he is convicted.

Rapper Kanye West Not Charged in Airport Incident
Prosecutors have decided not to file felony charges against the rapper Kanye West and his manager for an incident in which the camera of a paparazzi was broken. Prosecutors referred the case to the city attorneys and they will decide if West will be charged with a misdemeanor.
West was arrested on September 11th at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of vandalism after he was caught on video struggling with a paparazzi and then breaking his camera on the floor. His manager was also arrested on suspicion of breaking the camera and one that belonged to a TMZ videographer.

Rapper Kanye West Arrested
The rapper Kanye West and one of his bodyguards was arrested on Thursday morning at Los Angeles International Airport after an altercation with paparazzi where West smashed a camera on the floor. West and his road manager, who is also his bodyguard, were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism. The two were scheduled to board a flight to Honolulu, Hawaii that morning. The broken camera was valued at worth more than $10,000. West and his road manager were taken to be booked at a Los Angeles Police Department station in Culver City. West has been released from police custody on Thursday afternoon.

Man Gets Prison Time for Robbing Actress Kirsten Dunst's Hotel
A man named Jarrod Beinerman has been sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison for burglarizing the actress Kirsten Dunst's New York City hotel penthouse suite. He was arrested in August 2007 on burglary and larceny charges after a security camera captured his movements in Manhattan's SoHo Grand Hotel. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of attempted burglary. An iPod, wallets, and purses were stolen from Dunst's hotel suite. Beinerman has also been ordered to receive drug treatment for his drug addiction and he faces sentencing on September 10th on a drug charge.

Google’s Mission to the Moon
Google is offering $30 million dollars to the first private company that can land a robotic rover on the moon and beam back a gigabyte of images and video to Earth. Google has partnered with the X Prize Foundation for this contest and it is open to companies around the world.
Whoever fills the requirements of the contest by the end of 2012 gets $20 million dollars. The winner must be able to have a successful landing and have high-definition video and still cameras. The rover must also be able to trek at least 1,312 feet on the moon and send self-portraits, panoramic views, and near-real time video back to Earth that will be streamed on Google’s website. The participants must create a secure launch vehicle for the probe by building it themselves or contracting with a private rocket company.
If there is no winner, the prize will drop to $15 million dollars until the contest ends in 2014. There is a $5 million dollar second-place prize and a $5 million dollar bonus to the teams that go beyond the minimum requirements.
