The actress Mischa Barton was charged with 4 misdemeanors on Tuesday that are due to a drinking and driving arrest that happened last year. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while having 0.8 percent or higher blood alcohol level, driving without a valid license, and possession of 28.5 grams or less of marijuana.

Barton was arrested on Dec 27, 2007 in West Hollywood after sheriff’s deputies saw her car taking up two lanes of traffic and not signaling for a turn. She has played acting roles on the TV show, “The O.C.” and was in the movie, “The Sixth Sense.”

The actress Lindsay Lohan was court-ordered to spend two four-hour days working in a morgue for part of her punishment for misdemeanor drunken driving. The study analyzed the drinking habits of 70,033 women and asked them various questions during health exams between the years 1978 and 1985. By the year 2004, 2,829 of those women had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The study found that women who had one or two drinks a day increased their risk by 10 percent and women who had more than three drinks a day increased their risk by 30 percent.

Experts think that alcohol raises hormone levels in the blood to levels that could cause cancer. Doctors say that other factors, such as genetics, obesity, and age are more important factors that can raise the risk of breast cancer.

Couple Tries to Flee From Police on Horseback

It is reported that two people who were drunk tried to escape from the police on horseback. They were caught when one had gotten knocked off his horse from riding into a utility wire and the other one fell off her horse.

The man was caught causing a scene at a local convenience store and left the scene with his girlfriend on horseback. When the police were called and caught up with them they fled through a backyard. That is where they fell of their horses.

The couple were charged with riding a horse on a highway after dark without proper reflective material, being drunk in public and obstruction of justice. The man also was charged with attempted unlawful wounding. The man was held on a $2,500 bond and the woman was released.
