Singer Prince Being Sued by Perfume Maker

The singer Prince is being sued by a perfume company named Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc. that claims that he and his music publisher didn't honor a contract to help market a fragrance named after the album "3121." The company says that it licensed Prince's name, likeness, and the "3121" album to market the fragrance. The company says that it spent $2.5 million and agreed to pay Universal half of the net profits from the sales of the perfume but Universal and Prince haven't participated in promotions since the fragrance launched in July of 2007.

Comedian Katt Williams Arrested

The comedian Katt Williams was arrested on weapons charges in midtown Manhattan after police pulled him over for driving without license plates. Police found a handgun in his car after he was stopped. He was released on bail Thursday and was able to make it for his show at Carnegie Hall.

Actor Shia LaBeouf Not Charged in Car Accident

The actor Shia LaBeouf will not be charged for his involvement in a recent drunken driving accident that caused him to injure his hand. He could have his license suspended due to refusing to take the breathalyzer test. Authorities say that there wasn’t enough evident to charge him with drunken driving. He has a traffic hearing with the Department of Motor Vehicles on Friday and his driver’s license could possible be suspended for up to nine months.

Hip Hop Singer Nate Dogg Charged With Stalking

The hip hop singer Nate Dogg has been charged by prosecutors on Monday with stalking after he was accused of threatening and stalking his wife. He was arrested last month by the California Highway Patrol after his wife stated that he threatened and followed her while she was driving on a freeway south of Los Angeles.

He will be arraigned on July 16^th on felony counts of making criminal threats, stalking, and a misdemeanor charge of driving while his license was suspended for a drunken driving violation.

Rapper DMX Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

The rapper DMX has been arrested at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on outstanding warrants. He was taken into custody on Wednesday morning after coming in from Florida. He is being held on a $1,075 bond for driving with a suspended license and a $10,000 bond from previous drug charges. He was scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday.

American Idol Star Ruben Studdard Getting Married

The American Idol winner Ruben Studdard is set to get married on Saturday to his fiancé, named Surata Zuri McCants. The couple obtained a marriage license on Monday. Studdard has already released three albums since he won on the show American Idol in 2003. He is currently working on a new album.

Rapper Young Jeezy Arrested

The rapper Young Jeezy was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding after he was pulled over on Interstate 85 in his Corvette in Atlanta at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday. He was also charged with driving with no proof of insurance or license plate, having an open container, and reckless driving. He was released from the Atlanta City Detention Center a few hours after being arrested on a $4,100 bond. He is scheduled to go to court on July 17^th.

The rapper Coolio was arrested on Tuesday on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license. He posted $10,000 bail and was released from jail five hours after police pulled over his gray Hummer at around 1:45 a.m. in the morning in Hollywood. He was pulled over because the vehicle’s registration was expired, but police found that he had a suspended license and an outstanding warrant.

The actress Jessica Alba married the father of her unborn child, Cash Warren, in a Beverly Hills courthouse ceremony on Monday. The couple also applied for a marriage license on Monday and had to wait for 40 minutes for the paperwork to be processed before they were married. The actor Nick Cannon has supposedly gotten married to the pop singer Mariah Carey. It is said that the two got married on Wednesday and Carey was been wearing a huge diamond ring on her finger at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of her movie, “Tennessee.” Cannon was with her at the event. They supposedly had gotten married at Carey’s home in the Bahamas. On Friday, Carey obtained a marriage license on the island of Eleuthera, which is in the Bahamas.

The ring that Cannon gave her is a in a platinum setting with a square emerald cut pink diamond as the center stone with 58 pink diamonds and two half moon diamonds on each side. The ring is 17 carats in total and valued at $2.5 million. This would be Carey’s second marriage and Cannon’s first. She was previously married to the music executive Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998.

Beyonce and Jay Z File Marriage License

It is reported that a village clerk stated that a marriage license for Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z, which was dated April 4^th and signed by the person who officiated the wedding, is being filed by the state. The license was received by mail last Friday. The lavish wedding took place at Jay Z’s apartment on April 4^th and guests included Gwyneth Paltrow , Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

After six years of dating, it seems as Jay-Z and Beyonce have finally gotten married. The wedding took place at Jay-Z’s Tribeca apartment where a white tent was set up on the roof. Stars that attended included Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Jay-Z’s mother also attended, as well as Beyonce’s mother, father, and sister. After the wedding, a small party was thrown at the apartment. Last week it was reported that the couple had taken out a marriage license in Scarsdale, NY.

Singer T-Pain Turns Himself In For License Violation

On Friday, T-Pain turned himself in after having an outstanding warrant for diving with a suspended license. In June, T-Pain was driving in a Lamborghini Gallardo with his driver’s license being revoked at the time for traffic violations. He turned himself in at the Leon County jail and was later released.

You Can Marry at Any Age in Arkansas

It is reported that a law was passed this year that allows people in Arkansas to marry at any age, even infants and toddlers, if their parents agree.

The legislation was intended to establish 18 as the minimum age to marry and allow pregnant teenagers to marry with parental consent but someone accidentally put a "not" in the bill, so it reads "In order for a person who is younger than eighteen (18) years of age and who is not pregnant to obtain a marriage license, the person must provide the county clerk with evidence of parental consent to the marriage."

A code of revision commission, which fixes typographical and technical errors in law, tried to correct the mistake but the commission went beyond its powers. The Arkansas Legislative Council asked the independent commission to make a correction but lawmakers said that a special session may be necessary.
